Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Partner
ISC is a Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Partner and was one of the few
companies to assist Microsoft in the early CTP evaluation of SQL Server 2008.
The MapDotNet Platform currently supports SQL Server 2008 in several different
ways. Render, query and edit SQL Server 2008 spatial data using either MapDotNet
UX or MapDotNet Server v6.5.
“With MapDotNet, customers will have an immediate
opportunity to utilize the spatial enhancements in SQL Server 2008 in their data
visualization and GIS
applications. Customers can visualize, query, and even edit spatial data stored
in SQL Server within the Virtual Earth world. It is a powerful new paradigm for
GIS.” - Ed Katibah, SQL Server Spatial Program Manager at Microsoft
A Modernized Solution
With the introduction of MapDotNet UX, users now have a way to visualize,
analyze and manage spatial data in SQL Server 2008. MapDotNet UX includes Web
Services for rendering, querying, and editing data in SQL Server 2008. MapDotNet
UX also includes a free WPF-based
application called MapDotNet UX Studio that allows users perform basic
ETL from shapefiles, ArcSDE and PostGIS directly into SQL Server 2008.
The MapDotNet UX SDK allows developers to build Silverlight and
WPF mapping applications with SQL Server 2008.
“By taking advantage of the latest SQL Server technology,
MapDotNet is a modernized GIS
solution for our customers.” - Kim Saunders, Senior Director of
SQL Server Marketing at Microsoft
