MapDotNet UX has three primary components in one installer executable. Pre-requisites common for all components are:
MapDotNet UX Studio
MapDotNet Studio is a desktop application developed using Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) that you will want to install on your local workstation. MapDotNet UX Studio allows you to transfer data between data sources and design maps on your local machine or on a server on which MapDotNet UX Services is installed.
MapDotNet UX Web Services and Engine
*MapDotNet UX Services are Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Services (web services) that need to be installed on a Windows XP, Server 2003, Server 2008 or Vista machine running IIS 5.1, 6.0 or 7.0. This can be a server on your network, or your local workstation. The machine you install the Services on should have connectivity to the data sources that you intend to use.
BEFORE you install MapDotNet UX Services under IIS 7.0 or IIS 8 you must configure the settings as described here.
MapDotNet UX SDK and Samples
The MapDotNet SDK includes all of the library assemblies and control assemblies you will need to develop MapDotNet UX applications that target WPF and Silverlight 4. The SDK is for Visual Studio 2010 development targeting the .NET Framework 4.0.
We strive to release MapDotNet early and often. When a new installation package is available, get it at downloads section on our website and run the installer. The installed components will be upgraded.
